himself together and stop being so violent in general. he needs to really take this time and think about his life. >> reporter: now the victim has been identified in police records as isaac parker adams, 20 years old. we followed a trail to greenbelt, maryland, nobody answered there. we don't know much about the victim. he nor his family has come forth with any public statement at this point. so we couldn't know what his -- don't know what his status is, again waiting on chris brown and his bodyguard, their arraignment here at d.c. superior court and one insider said he wouldn't be surprised if the two walk out of here at some point. you all know the back story here, rihanna in 2009 assaulted by her boyfriend chris brown. through a plea deal he did community service. he was seen on the side of the road picking up trash, that sort of thing, still on probation for that. that could come back to haunt him in this proceeding today.

heroic hotel employee that was caught on video and prince george's county police believe all three of these men may be responsible for uncounted other armed robberies all over our region. scott broom live now at the clarion hotel in oxon hill where that murder happened just a week ago now. >> reporter: it was what happened here that was the undoing of this trio of criminals as you mentioned, caught on video, brazen, arrogant is the way detectives described this crime to. make it all worse the victim, jesse chavez, the food and beverage manager here, he has been the described as the hero responding to the screams of his front desk clerk. seen on tape a suspect police now say is 20-year-old deandre weems leaping the hotel front desk and holding a gun on the terrorized clerk. on his way out food and beverage manager jesse chavez tried to stop the robber and was shot and killed. >> the murder weapon has been recovered. the torched get away car that

be recovered. >> reporter: today prince george's county police announced arrests. weems the alleged triggerman, 18-year-old rinaldo washington accused as being a lookout and 23-year-old kimfrey williams accused of being the get-away driver all from southeast washington. >> it was a brave tipster who broke this cased what i open. >> reporter: julie parker speaks for prince george's county police. >> we believe this trio is responsible for other armed robberies both in prince george's county and in washington d.c. >> reporter: a .380 caliber taurus pistol seized at weems apartment is ballistically linked to the killing. the camry was stolen and torched by weems a short distance from his apartment in the 4200 block of fifth street southeast police said. according to charging documents, witnesses said all three talked about the murder and we'lls said, "the guy should not have tried -- and weems said, "the guy should not have tried to play the hero." two of the suspects weems and

security agency contractor edward snowden leaked documents revealing the u.s. capped german chancellor angela merkel's cell phone and eavesdropped on more than 60 million private conversations in spain in just one month. president obama steered clear of the controversy as he helped swear in his new fbi director, but the white house is saying u.s. intelligence gathering is under review. >> the president clearly feels strongly about making sure that we are not just collecting information because we can, but because we should. >> reporter: besides being embarrassing spying on allies could have economic consequences as washington works to negotiate a major trade deal with the european union. former state department analyst james lewis says the u.s. won't stop the program because in a post 9/11 world the information is too valuable. >> this makes us safer. less surveillance means more successful attacks. >> reporter: the white house hopes to complete its surveillance review by the end

of the year. danielle nottingham, cbs news, washington. >> the head of the health and intelligence committee will travel to brussels to try and find a way to move forward with our european allies. let's take you to colorado where the boulder district attorney will not pursue charges in the jonbenet ramsey case despite the fact documents released last week show a grand jury chose to indict john and patsy ramsey in 1999 for the death of their 6-year-old daughter. the prosecutor at the time, a personal friend of the ramseys, refused to go forward with the case. the d.a. said there was not enough evidence to prosecute the parents. patsy ramsey died in 2006 and to this day no one has been charged with jonbenet's murder. the doctor convicted in michael jackson's death is a free man tonight. carbon monoxide served two years behind bars for an -- conrad murray served two years

behind bars for an involuntary manslaughter conviction. the 60-year-old doctor was sent to jail for his role in jackson's death from a drug overdose in 2009. discussions underway once again to raise the minimum wage in washington d.c. and while the council is hashing things out in the chamber, a coalition of workers is gathering outside. the most generous proposal would raise minimum wage to $12.50. that's what the city council had settled on for large retailer overs the summer, but that was resowed by mayor vincent gray after -- vetoed by mayor vincent gray after wal- mart threatened to scrap its stores if it wasn't changed. right after the break dexter manly is here in the studio to talk about a slur on the radio. >> at 5:30 coming up he just wanted to drink beer and hang out at a frat party or two, but

a d.c. football legend used an ugly word on the radio today, one that many folks, especially those in the gay community may find offensive. dexter manly is a former redskin as well as a contributor to game on here on wusa9. here's what he said this morning speaking to wtop radio anchors. >> was it a big jinx that troy aikman was doing the game, a former cowboy? >> i think troy is a year.

>> oh oh. we couldn't want to go there. >> sorry about that. >> you want to apologize to him? >> no. i'll just say i take that back. >> we don't want to go there either, but we got to. dexter manning joins us now with his wife lydia and darrell green, a former game on panelist. dexter, what when were doing there? >> i've had two brain surgeries in seven years and sometimes i may say things that's inappropriate and i do lay poll jays, but i couldn't tell you what -- deeply apologize, but i couldn't tell you what happened. i just kind of talk to much. >> so it was a mouth in gear before brain online kind of thing? >> absolutely. joe gibbs had as many days pounding on me telling me watch what i say. this is one of these days i should have been more careful and watch what i said. >> darrell, you're a friend of

his. most people know him as a very nice man, but what he said was not a nice thing. >> i agree with that. i'm darrell green. i've been here for 30 years. i wouldn't be sitting here if i didn't believe in this guy. i sit next to him on the set and i've known him since high school. we played against each other and i know exactly -- i can't speak completely about all the brain surgeries. i spoke to him the last couple months ago when he had his last one. there's something there and the guy is not that kind of guy. this lady here can tell you that better than i, can but otherwise i wouldn't be here -- i can, but otherwise i couldn't be here, derek. i support this man and i don't believe meant it at all. >> why did you say you wouldn't apologize? you said no. >> tell you what, derek. i had those brain surgeries and sometimes i within over my head. i didn't really know what i said until i left the set. i talked to my wife lydia and she kind of told me what i said and i just think it was kind of ignorant for me not to apologize.

>> yeah, which is kind of a tragedy in and of itself they haven't been able to rebuild because the money just isn't there for whatever reason. the money to rebuild is not there. >> some of those homes just aren't going to be usable again because they can't even get flood insurance if they don't raze them. >> i can't believe it's been a year. luckily nothing out there in the atlantic right now. it's been a very quiet tropical season and a quiet weather day ahead tomorrow, but then things get more active heading into the workweek. let's start off with a look at the michael and son weather cam. we have a wide view, the capitol in the center of the screen and a fair amount of sunshine mixing with cloud cover. 65 degrees at reagan national, nice comfortable temperature, nice comfortable humidity as well, 39% right now. winds are out of north at 8 miles per hour. in our weather headlines we'll see plenty of clouds on tuesday. an area of high pressure to our north will give us an onshore

flow promoting that cloud cover development. it will be the coolest day of the workweek because of that onshore flow and there is a shower possible tuesday night. a big storm system is heading our way. and this will be the first cluster of showers that moves through, but it doesn't cool us down. temperatures will be near 70 degrees wednesday. warmer weather is in store. now it's 61 in leesburg and gaithersburg, 64 in manassas, 68 in culpeper, 58 in martinsburg and hagerstown. on our satellite and radar you can see the cloud cover that kind of crept toward us from the south, but the rain stayed well to the south. this will continue tracking east and not be a factor in our forecast as we head through the day. on 9 futurecast we'll keep it clear during the overnight hours, just a few clouds drifting through and then during the day tuesday a few clouds start to build toward us and a few sprinkles are possible during the overnight. this is what it will look like wednesday morning, maybe a few flicks of the windshield wipers, but the bulk of the moisture is waiting in the

wings. that won't arrive until we get into at least thursday, probably friday, but overnight tonight partly cloudy with the low between 38 and 46, winds out of north east 5 to 10 miles per hour. on tuesday morning clouds, limited sun, temperatures in the 40s and 50s. it's that onshore flow that will produce the cloud cover, partly to mostly cloudy in the afternoon with highs in the low 60s and east winds at 5 to 10. our 9 weather alerts will remain green. we have that chance for a morning shower wednesday, but then a few peeks of sunshine and a high of 68. thursday halloween, slight chance for a shower, most of the day looking dry. in the first alert seven-day forecast it's the warmest day in our forecast with a high of 72. then the cold front crashes through friday, could produce thunderstorms with the rain showers and a high of 70 degrees, cooler weather as we head into the weekend. we could see a few showers lingering saturday, partly to mostly cloudy, a high of 63 and only 60 on sunday, feeling like

make history whether they volunteer for the job or not. darrell hill said he just wanted to play football, but a half century ago he broke the color line at university of maryland and a few other places and as you'll see, while hill was certainly a pioneer, he did not walk alone. >> i just right off the bat said hey, you know, i'm not trying to be jackie robinson. i'd like to go to college, have a normal college life. >> darrell hill smiles about it now, but after graduating from gonzaga high as a star wide receiver in 1961 hill's college life would never be normal. first hill's mom talked him into the naval academy where he was the first black player ever. >> there were kids on the team from the south who weren't all that happy about my being on the team. >> did i mention the quarterback on that team? >> i said hey, boy, you can really throw. i said what's your name? >> he said roger. i said what's your last name?

penn state said it's paying nearly $60 million to men who claimed they were sexually abused as children by former football coach jerry sandusky. the school faces six more claims. sandusky was convicted of 45 criminal counts and received a 30 to 60 year prison sentence. he is seeking a new trial. penn state did a lot of damage control in the wake of the sandusky scandal. now singer chris brown has similar pr pressure. joining us now kenny freed. this guy is on strike 9 about right now. three strikes you're out. what is it now for chris brown? >> he's already gone through

all the different things to try to prevent bad things from happening to him. he started a commission a couple years ago. he just keeps on getting in trouble. it's not a good thing. >> how long before people stop listening to i'm sorry? when you have violence against a woman, that's about as low as you can go almost and he apologized and did all this work to try to come back. after a while do people still care what you say? >> right now i think it's going to be a broken record for him. i couldn't think people will buy anything he says now. he's going to do an apology, depends on what happens here, but it's going to eventually hurt him. right now his record sales will go up. people itunes will check him out. people who don't know him, now they know who he is. >> a little infamy these days is good, right? >> he has fame, but he'll get more. right now he's been on the top of google news all day. he'll be on the newscasts. that's what people are talking about. >> what would you advise him?

>> keep as low of profile as can he and try to point out some of the -- he can and try to point out some of the good things he's done. he's development a foundation and helped a lot of -- got a foundation and helped a lot of kids. he's done a lot of things. he just has to wait for things to blow over. there will be another story happening tomorrow. >> does there come a time when you say you know what? i can't help you anymore. i don't care how much money you have or what kind of client you are. you might be dragging me down? >> there's always the next person that will try to help him who wants to sort of get their little exposure. so there will always be people out there. they'll continue to advise him and hopefully he's going to try to take some of that, maybe go back to virginia where he's from and do his community service and promote the fact that he's doing all the hours and gets the word out on that. >> is there a time when radio stations may say we're not playing your records anymore? >> stations maybe in middle

time about a possible catastrophe. so far so good as far as the hurricane season. >> very calm. we haven't had a landfalling hurricane in the united states this year. >> we like that. >> absolutely. let's see if we can hold onto that. the hurricane season is almost over. it ends november 30th. we only have one month to go. meanwhile it's feeling very nice and fall-like. let's look at the michael and son weather cam. you can see there is some sunshine out there as we take a live look at the kennedy center, 65 degrees, partly cloudy sky and dew point of 39. so it's pretty dry here at the surface, but we do have more clouds moving in and that is an indication, of course, of an increase in moisture. plenty of clouds during the day tuesday. an area of high pressure to our north is going to bring an east flow to the d.c. metro area. that tends to keep that moisture locked in. we will see the coolest day of the workweek because of that east flow. the ocean, of course, much cooler now and bringing in that

cooler air for us. a shower is possible tuesday night but not during the day. wednesday we'll see temperatures near 70 degrees. so quite a warm-up on the way. 63 now in manassas, 58 in martinsburg and hagerstown, 57 in gaithersburg, mid-60ors downtown in d.c. and for most of the beltway. on our wide view of satellite and radar you can see the area of high pressure that will bring us that east flow, but right now it's being obstructed by another frontal system. the front that was lingering over us today actually prevented that storm from coming our way. we saw a few clouds during the day. that will continue overnight, no rain, a bit milder tonight 38 to 46 for your overnight lows and northeast winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. limited sun tomorrow morning, temperatures in the 40s and 50s, northeast flow continues and becomes more easterly in the afternoon. still getting into the low 60s for your afternoon highs but
